The Heisman Trophy

The famous Heisman Trophy pose has been reenacted by boys all across America, hoping one day they would have the chance to accept this award and be named amongst the greatest players to ever play the game. Well, it’s that time of the year again in college football when one player is awarded the Heisman Trophy and he will remain in the college football hall of fame. For those of you ladies out there who do not know what the Heisman is, I will quickly fill you in.

Every college football season the Heisman Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the United States…no big deal. It is now the most sought after award for any college football player. Receiving the Heisman means your the toughest, the smartest, the hardest working and most skilled player among thousands of others who play at the collegiate level. The winner is selected by journalists and there are a total of 870 selected media voters. Former Heisman winners also have the opportunity to vote and there are presently 55. Each voter has to pick three candidates and place them in order of their first, second and third pick. The first-place selection receives three points, while the second receives two points and the last receives one point.
